Welcome Home Program Helps Low to Moderate Income People with Home Down Payments & Closing Costs

Heritage Bank Encourages Customers to Refer Friends, Family and Employees Who Might Qualify to a Heritage Banker

Do you know someone who wants to be a homeowner but is struggling to save for a down payment? Maybe she’s an employee. Maybe he goes to your church. He or she might even be a member of your family or a friend.

We have a way you may be able to help. Share information about the Welcome Home program. You can share this blog by email or social media. Or you can just tell someone you believe might qualify to contact a Heritage Mortgage Loan Officer today.

Welcome Home Raises Grant Levels

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati is once again working with local banks, including Heritage Bank, to help low and moderate-income residents of greater Cincinnati become homeowners. Grants have increased sharply over 2022, and there are two time periods for reserving funds.

        • Grants of up to $10,000 are available to income eligible homebuyers to fund a down payment and closing costs.

        • Grants of up to $15,000 are available to income eligible people with military ties. Honorably discharged veterans, active-duty military, reservists and surviving spouses of service personnel should explore whether they qualify.

Welcome Home Adds a Second Application Period

Funds become available again on July 6. In most years, the funds are quickly exhausted. Anyone interested should contact a Heritage Mortgage Loan Officer soon to understand whether they qualify and what steps they will need to take prior to July 6 to ensure their applications are in order when the window to apply opens.

Other Mortgage Options

If the Welcome Home program is not a good fit, the Heritage Mortgage team is happy to review the financing options available. Just call or email today.
